We look forward to Meydan’s 2011/2012 racing season for the ninth running of the renamed Dubai World Cup Carnival, and our signature event, the seventeenth renewal of the world’s richest day in racing, the Dubai World Cup.

Under the distinguished patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, racing continues as an integral part of the UAE sporting and social calendar.

Meydan serves as the flagship racecourse for Dubai and is a source of pride for the United Arab Emirates, featuring state-of-the-art facilities, attractive prize money and competitive racing for all levels. An architectural masterpiece, Meydan is home to the world’s only five-star trackside hotel, The Meydan, alongside the Meydan Grandstand.
Racing at Meydan features the best of our local horse population while the Dubai World Cup Carnival attracts the greatest international horses and horsemen to Dubai.

The Meydan season will once again conclude with the world’s richest day in racing, the Dubai World Cup.

The 2011 running was a historic event as Victoire Pisa and Transcend gave Japan their first 1 – 2 finish in the Dubai World Cup.

Meydan is a hub of activity throughout the year with a wide variety of special events, exhibits and meetings held at the facility and The Meydan Hotel. During the racing season the activity and excitement increases as Meydan and Dubai become the focus of the racing world for what is truly an international meet of champions for this thrilling sport.
