The season marks the third to be hosted at the stunning Meydan Racecourse. The season will get underway on Thursday, November 10, 2011 with a total of five Meydan race meetings held during November and December, and an additional five featured January through March. The highly competitive Dubai World Cup Carnival will begin on Thursday, January 5 with 10 meetings contested January through March. The 3^rd Meydan Master International Jockey Challenge will help kick off the Dubai World Cup Carnival and will be held on both January 5 and 6. The competition will pit 12 of the world’s top riders in a points-based competition to be held in four legs contested over two days. The final major preps for the Dubai World Cup (DWC) will be held on Super Saturday, March 10, and will feature a preview of the upcoming DWC action. The pinnacle of Dubai’s racing calendar will be presented on March 31, 2012 as the 17th running of the Dubai World Cup brings a sensational close to the race season.
